Blephasteam Therapy

Blephasteam® is a gentle, in-practice treatment designed to relieve dry eye symptoms caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Using controlled, therapeutic heat and humidity, it helps to soften and unblock the oil glands in your eyelids, encouraging the natural flow of oils that keep your eyes comfortably lubricated. This non-invasive therapy supports healthier tear film, reduces irritation, and can significantly improve comfort for those experiencing dry, gritty, or tired eyes. Regular sessions can be an important part of managing chronic dry eye and maintaining long-term eye health.

Punctal Plugs

Punctal plugs offer a straightforward and effective way to relieve dry eye symptoms by helping your eyes retain more of their natural moisture. These tiny, biocompatible plugs are gently placed in the tear ducts to reduce tear drainage, allowing tears to stay on the surface of the eye longer. Ideal for moderate to severe dry eye, this quick, minimally invasive treatment helps improve tear stability and provides lasting comfort.

Gland Expression

Gland expression is a targeted treatment used to relieve dry eyes caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). It involves gently expressing the blocked oil glands in the eyelids to restore healthy oil flow to the tear film. This helps reduce tear evaporation and keeps the eyes comfortably hydrated. By clearing these blockages, gland expression can ease dryness, irritation, and discomfort—offering a natural, effective way to support long-term eye health and comfort.

Medicated Drops & Supplements

Medications and supplements are an important part of dry eye management, helping to reduce inflammation, improve tear production, and enhance tear quality. When eye drops alone aren’t enough, systemic medications may be considered. We may also recommend oral supplements, such as Omega-3 fatty acids, to support eye comfort and reduce irritation. These treatments are personalised to your needs and work in combination with other therapies to deliver lasting relief and support overall eye health.

Lid Scrubs

Lid scrubs are a gentle and effective way to clean the eyelids, removing debris, bacteria, and excess oils that can contribute to dry eye symptoms. Regular use helps reduce inflammation, prevent blockages in the Meibomian glands, and support better tear quality. Particularly helpful for those with blepharitis or Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), lid scrubs can be an essential part of your daily eye care routine, promoting healthier eyes and lasting relief.
